Executive Elf Challenge
Silicon Valley Executives played Santa for a day! This season, more than 60,000 low income children received gifts and clothing through the Family Giving Tree's Holiday Wish Drive. To share the holiday spirit and bring awareness to the magnitude of the problem, the Elves hosted a competition amongst the employees of our host companies and biggest supporters.
With the help of City Year Volunteers, over 300 Silicon Valley CEO's, executives and others wrapped, 'shopped' and bagged gifts in a fun competitive environment; a warehouse brimming with 60,000 gifts! After preparing more than 1,500 gifts for agency pick-ups, participants then dressed their favorite executive as Santa (or Mrs. Claus) and paraded around the warehouse for their comrades (and media!) to admire.
