With our offices closed since March 10th, we have nonetheless been hard at work together to meet the needs of our community. Like most companies, we have become more than familiar with virtual meetings and conference calls. As spring has given way to summer and social distancing has extended longer than we had hoped, we wanted to assure you that we are working to provide for low-income families during these difficult times.
In keeping with State directives, large group activities were suspended and normal warehouse operations were adjusted to work within established guidelines. Even with the important safety limitations, we were able to successfully deliver 23,000+ backpacks to deserving students around the Bay Area.
As we now watch summer slowly slip into autumn, we are already hard at work retooling our Holiday Wish Drive too. We want to assure you that good wishes for the holiday season are still on the horizon as we seek to bring joy and comfort to 40,000 recipients who have been hardest hit by the pandemic and could sure use a bright spot in their days right now.
Finally, as we all have heard the dire news about job loss and the need for families to be safely housed, we have created the Bring Hope Home Program. Designed to assist a family with a month's rent and to cover other monthly expenses, we ask donors to support extremely low-income families in four of many communities hard hit by the outfall of the pandemic: San Francisco, East Palo Alto, Palo Alto and East San Jose. Each family is represented by a name, family icon and a few details so each donor can choose the family that resonates with them. While we ask for full support, any amount will help defray the cost of living in the Bay Area. Visit Bring Hope Home and help a neighbor today.
We wish you safety, rest, and joy—even in these tough times.
