Meet Jill Mitsch, Family Giving Tree's new CEO.
In November 2024, Jill Mitsch was voted as Family Giving Tree's new CEO.
Jill has played a vital role at Family Giving Tree from the start. She was hired as Development Director in March 2020 and immediately launched an Education Relief fundraising campaign to provide much-needed school supplies to students facing the new normal of distance learning during the pandemic.
Jill brings nearly 18 years of nonprofit leadership experience, focusing on serving under-resourced communities in the Bay Area. Now, as CEO, she continues to guide our mission with heart and vision, drawing from her past roles at Family Giving Tree and other Bay Area organizations, such as Sacred Heart Community Service.
If 8-year-old Jill had known she'd one day work surrounded by toys and school supplies, she would have been amazed. Today, she’s inspired by moments like seeing drive leaders deliver carloads of backpacks or holiday gifts to our Community Hub and witnessing agencies pick up these items to distribute to their members. These moments serve as a powerful reminder of her belief that we all can play a part in bringing joy, hope, and dignity to our neighbors.
Born and raised in Morgan Hill, Jill earned her BA in English from San Jose State University. Outside of work, she enjoys tending to her vegetable garden, experimenting in the kitchen, and staying active. You’ll often find her with a book in hand or spending time with her husband, Dennis, and their two cats, Kiki and Katie. She is also the 2025 Board President for the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
