Community Drive Coordinator

Location: Santa Clara/South Bay (Hybrid)
Salary: $30-35/hour, commensurate with experience.

Our beloved nonprofit is looking for a passionate and dedicated person to run our Community Drive Program, who will continue to build on a strong, growth-focused Drive Leader program aligned with the mission and vision of Family Giving Tree (FGT).

Summary of position:

The Community Drive Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, registering, facilitating, and maintaining relationships with Drive Leader companies and community groups who support Family Giving Tree’s donation drives and initiatives. Formulates and implements processes and plans to meet the organization’s short and long-term goals for corporate and community relationships. Provides guidance to the Drive Leaders. Collaborates with the Marketing team to develop and publicize brand-aligned, community-focused messaging and resources. Develops and strengthens ties with the Bay Area community. Utilizes Salesforce to track Drive performance data, generate reports, and inform strategy. Conducts presentations to corporations and community groups to foster relationships and continued connection.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and manage all strategic corporate and community recruitment and retention activities to steward and deepen Drive Leader relationships with Family Giving Tree. This includes leading all staff activities directed toward Drive Leader growth initiatives.
Research and recruit new Drive Leaders and regain lapsed Drive Leaders as drive participants.

Serve as the first point of contact for Drive Leaders on all aspects of our programs. Provide guidance on how to run a drive successfully.

Visit corporations and community organizations to present community impact involvement opportunities, discuss process improvement strategies, and present post-drive successes to large groups and companies.

Facilitate all proactive communications with Drive Leaders to include drive announcements, kickoff drive alerts, and other events and activities in partnership with the Marketing team.
Set up and manage Drive Leader registration, materials distribution, and partner with Program Operations to coordinate, set up, and execute donation drop-offs at the main operations hub and remote drop-off locations around the Bay Area for each Drive.

Manage the Drive Leader database by accurately updating current records. Enter post-drive donations for award calculations and maintain historical performance data. Generate and analyze reports for data-driven decision-making for program improvement and growth.

Contribute relevant information to and write occasional articles for publication online or by other means of distribution.

Coordinate volunteer activities with the Volunteer and Program Operations Lead to prepare marketing collateral and program material for mass mailings and ensure drive participants receive their materials.

Collaborate with the Marketing team on various marketing needs, such as Drive Leader collateral creation/revisions and drafting copy for Drive Leader-specific communications.
Annually track and communicate all Drive Leader contributions – both monetary and physical donations. Work with the accounting team to provide details about donated backpacks, supplies, and gifts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

This full-time position is based in Santa Clara, CA with some travel throughout the Bay Area to meet with corporations and community groups. Additional responsibilities as assigned, including various support roles during in-drive operations in July/August and November/December. Vacations are not scheduled in November or December, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. July/August vacations are dependent on workload.

Must have a good driving record and be insured or can use public transportation to attend meetings and gatherings.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or relevant experience.
Project Management experience from start to execution to finish.
Must be a self-starter who can see what needs to be done, plan, and carry out that plan with little supervision or guidance.
Proven track record of building relationships and engaging with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Excellent customer/client service skills.
Strong social skills and experience in community and relationship building.
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
Can think strategically and design logistical plans for staff to carry out.
Compelling and inspirational communication skills: interpersonal, oral, and written.
Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail.
Approach obstacles with a positive and solutions-focused attitude.
Comfortable representing the organization externally and presenting to groups of all sizes.
Fluent with Google Suite tools, Microsoft Office Suite (Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with Asana, Slack, or other equivalent project and communication management platforms preferred.
Experience with Salesforce or an equivalent CRM platform.
Family Giving Tree will not reimburse for relocation expenses.
