 • How does Samsung celebrate the holidays?

As a company, we make it a priority to uplift our community, especially during the holidays. We get into the holiday spirit starting on Giving Tuesday, a very special day where we stand by our employees and the causes they care about most by matching donations to nonprofits by 200%. We also love to engage our employees in Family Giving Tree’s Holiday Wish Drive annually, purchasing gifts for local youth and wrapping them up! We’ve also hosted coat drives and volunteered at local food banks to celebrate the season of giving, but at the end of the day, we enjoy going home to our families and embracing the little moments.

• How long has Samsung participated in the Holiday Wish Drive?

We’ve been honored to take part in FGT’s Holiday Wish Drive since 2006!

• What does Samsung hope to accomplish through its partnership with FGT?

As a corporate citizen in Silicon Valley, we know it’s our duty to serve our neighbors in need, whether it’s through educational support, volunteerism, or gifts. Samsung firmly believes in FGT’s mission and supports the organization’s values: community, kindness, empowerment, adaptability, and accountability. That’s why we’ve partnered with them over the last 15 years and we are fortunate to be a part of something larger than ourselves through FGT’s incredible work. Our hope is to continue working with the dedicated people of FGT to spread joy, resources, and empowerment to more students and families in the Bay Area.

• What are Samsung’s broader philanthropic goals?

Samsung is committed to “enabling people”, whether it’s through empowering future generations to achieve their full potential, or using our expertise and resources to elevate our community. We focus on equipping students with crucial skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven future, but we also strive to provide members of our community with resources they need on a day to day basis, such as food and shelter.

• What defines holiday joy for you?
As described above, serving our community to spread smiles and love is how we define holiday joy!

• What was your best holiday gift memory?

One of our favorite holiday gift memories is when we helped fulfill Holiday Wish Drive gift requests in 2008

A healthful and safe holiday season, and a wonderful new year ahead for all.

• What does it look like to Empower, Uplift, and Unite our community?

FGT is the perfect depiction of what it takes to empower, uplift, and unite our community. Samsung recognizes that it is a large effort that takes a village and includes every individual’s contribution. It consists of generosity and connection. It requires teamwork and the building of bridges. It’s the key to fostering hope for the future!
