Family Giving Tree's inaugural Holiday Wish Drive happened over 30 years ago and has grown to be such a fantastic part of the Bay Area's holiday season!
Every year, the FGT team is joined by thousands of outstanding members of the community to share the spirit of giving and ensure that joy is felt by as many of our neighbors as possible. HWD is genuinely a joint mission, and we're so thankful that so many choose to take part year after year.
One member of the Bay Area community, Star One Credit Union (SOCU), has been along for the HWD ride as a drive sponsor since 2017, and their support has been invaluable.
One of Silicon Valley's largest member-owned financial institutions, SOCU has made it a part of their mission to not only give back to, but be present in the communities they work with. In fact, in 2022, they were named one of Silicon Valley Business Journal's Top 50 Corporate Philanthropists. And last year, in 2023, they offered support to just over 90 Bay Area community organizations, including FGT.
